Amplify your impact
The Anchorage School District proposal to cut 25 school nurse positions is unsafe and not cost effective. Consider using the following talking points in your testimony.
- The One Nurse One School vision should guide all budget decisions.
- Some cuts may be inevitable but do not require that we turn to a Regional Model. If there is to be a task force, let it find other ways to save money without abandoning the One Nurse One School vision.
- The Regional Model will lead to delayed care and unsafe situations.
- The Regional Model is not cost effective and carries with it many hidden liabilities.
Below are links to the testimony of nurses and parents. Oral testimony goes by quickly, but written testimony can be lengthy, and include references. Submit both!
Nurse Debbie Pintsch has given us some important advice!
"As important as our testimonies are, the most powerful ones are from parents (and students!). Please think of parents in your school that would be willing to step up. Every school has them !!"
